But simpler CD players, especially the portables that soon came out, muted, but these manufacturers soon learned. The first Sony and Philips CD players generally did not mute when encountering the pause between tracks. A good mastering system allows you to do both.Īs an aside, the big issue today is that the players themselves are eroding away from the CD standard. You can have a crossfade anywhere you like and you can put the track mark for the next track anywhere you like. The bottom line is that the PQ codes have absolutely no relationship to your crossfade.
